We are on track to have one of the snowiest February's on record. The police department in Osakis, Minnesota are having some fun with it. The only way to get through a Minnesota winter is with a smile. Here is what they posted on their Facebook page:

Due to weather predictions for Minnesota, the DNR is requesting all ice fishing shanties be removed from the lakes by July 3rd, prior to the fireworks.

At this point I feel like that is when the snow will finally start to melt. We have so much of it!

Inland Waters
Dates of removal are determined by an east-west line formed by U.S. Hwy. 10, east along Hwy. 34 to Minnesota Hwy. 200, east along Hwy. 200 to U.S. Hwy. 2, and east along Hwy. 2 to the Minnesota-Wisconsin border.

  • South of line - March 4, 2019
  • North of line - March 18, 2019
