There's new music playing now on Mix 94.9!

The latest single and the title track from Sam Smith's upcoming album "To Die For" is playing now on Mix 94.9. Released February 14, 2020 Smith said in a press release, "I wrote the song...during a time of self-discovery and heartbreak. This is for all the lonely hearts out there on another Valentine’s Day xx.”

"To Die For" is the first release from Smith in 2020 and follows his last US chart hit "How Do You Sleep." The song and accompanying music video sample from the 2001 cult classic film Donnie Darko, opening with the dialogue "It is if everyone dies alone // Does that scare you? // I don't wanna be alone." The song this week earned itself the title of pop radio's most-added song after gaining the support and airplay of 148 Mediabase-monitored pop stations this week. Comparatively, Justin Bieber's latest single "Intentions" featuring Quavo was only added by 39 pop stations.

Smith's upcoming third studio album To Die For is set to release May 1, 2020. His last album was the 2017 hit The Thrill of it All featuring "Too Good at Goodbyes" and "Pray."
