NKOTB Member Releases Best Solo Single Yet [VIDEO]

My friend for over ten years, Danny Wood, has always been underrated in my book. He wasn't out front in New Kids on the Block, and didn't sing lead on any of the groups mega hits (though Valentine Girl is one of the groups best in my opinion). Danny's always been comfortable with his role in the group. I'm a firm believer that without him, the group wouldn't be as successful as they are. There's something about all five that still make it work almost thirty years later.

I've had the privilege of getting to know Danny personally over the years. The man who thinks the world starts and ends with his children. The man who truly values friendships. The man who sent a care package the day he heard my wife was diagnosed with cancer. The breast cancer warrior. The man who writes a hit song, and doesn't even know it.

Anyone who appreciates a solid pop-rock album, should pick up a copy of his debut solo album; "Second Face." Anyone who thinks that "boy-band" members don't play their own instruments, should pick up a copy of "Coming Home." Anyone who thinks Danny Wood shouldn't be taken seriously as a singer / songwriter better listen to "Look At Me" before saying another word.

The BH's (Blockheads) know exactly what I'm talking about. They've seen the growth and appreciate the art. Danny's not new to writing hit songs. He's been doing it since the late 80s with New Kids on the Block. I challenge the critics to read the liner notes / album credits of "Hangin' Tough." He co-wrote "My Favorite Girl" and even engineered and produced on the album. How about Tommy Page' number one  hit; "I'll Be Your Everything?" I bet the critics dismissed the fact that he along with Jordan Knight and Page co-wrote the international smash.

I'll get off my soap box for now. I urge everyone to please listen to his new solo work with an open mind. I promise Danny Wood will make a believer out of even the harshest critic on the planet. I'm proud to call him my friend. I look forward to working with him in the fall on his new album. I really look forward to seeing tons of money raised for the foundation that honors his mother, Remember Betty.
