From break-up ballad to dance-track, Mix 94.9's spinning two new tunes!

Australian artist Dean Lewis makes his Mix 94.9 debut this week with his single "Be Alright," -- a gut-wrenching break-up ballad from his upcoming debut album. Lewis says that the song is about a bunch of different relationships that didn't last, one of which inspired a line in the song: ""I know you love her, but it's over, mate / It doesn't matter, put the phone away"

Lewis recalls driving straight to his brother’s house, “He met me at the front door, handed me a glass of whiskey, and said ‘It’s over, put the phone away, it will be alright.’ We had a drink and it just felt good to talk."

The rising artist's debut studio album is expected sometime in 2019.

Also making waves on Mix 94.9 this week is Zedd's remix of Shawn Mendes' "Lost in Japan." While the original song sans bubbly club feel comes from Mendes' third studio album, Zedd shared with Billboard that they were looking for a remix of the song:

"We've been friends for a while, and we actually tried to work together for way too long, They were looking for a new version of it, so I was like, 'I'm still here.'"

The result is a more techno, glitchy undeniably dance-able collaboration between the two. Give the original and remix a listen for yourself and see if you can hear the differences.
