My wife always tells people that -- between the two of us -- I have the "cool" job.

I mean, radio DJ does sound cooler than office administrator. But what most people don't know is that my wife is pretty cool herself.

Outside of her day job Katie is an actress. One of her favorite stages to perform on is Lyric Arts in downtown Anoka, where she's done countless shows over the past five years. Currently, she's cast as the lead female role in a musical called Bright Star -- a folk/Americana-style story of tragedy and redemption written by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell.

The show -- which runs every weekend Thursday through Sunday in September -- is also a regional premier, meaning no other theater in Minnesota has ever performed Bright Star before. With that local significance in mind, Coon Rapids' local television station visited the theater to cover a story on the cast and show, and Katie made the final news package!
