CAGED NO MORE Movie/Youtube
Human trafficking is one of the fastest growing industries in the world, behind drugs. Recently, a Sartell High School English class read the book "Caged." Aly Koopman and Lexie Oftedahl then joined a book club to further discuss the topic and issue of human trafficking.
As their book club progressed, they learned many horrifying facts about the reality of sex trafficking and how it occurs...not only right here in our own backyard, but across the globe.
The book club had the opportunity to Facetime the author of the book, Caged No More, Molly Venzke. She informed the students that the movie based on the book, was not available in the midwest.
The students decided to go to their church, Celebration Lutheran, for help on bringing the movie to Central Minnesota. Tyler Malotky, Sr. High Youth Director, was instrumental in the in-depth process necessary to bring the movie to St. Cloud.
The movie will open at the Marcus Parkwood Cinema, January 29th and will run through February 4th.
