Mix 94.9 Surprises St. Joe Teacher of the Week Cheryl Novacinski
Congrats to our latest Teacher of the Week -- Cheryl Novacinski!
Cheryl is a 1st grade teacher at Kennedy Community School in St. Joseph and was nominated by one of her previous students -- Cassie Schwegel. Cassie's son Sully is now a first grader in Cheryl's class.
Here's what Cassie had to say about Cheryl:
Cheryl was MY 1st grade teacher in 1988 at Kennedy Elementary. I am now a parent of a 1st grader at Kennedy Community School, who I am lucky enough to say ALSO has Cheryl as his 1st grade teacher! Cheryl is a committed, no nonsense teacher. I have known a handful of families over the years whose children have been in her classroom and there is not one parent who will tell you that she is anything short of incredible. It is not hard to see how much she loves her job. She is enthusiastic, engaging and able to make learning even the not-so-fun subjects like MATH - fun to learn! I cannot say enough about her, honestly. She has been my favorite teacher for 31 years, is currently adored by my son, and appreciated by our entire family. The fact that an almost 7 year old not only remembers what he did in school that day (versus the typical "I dunno") , but tells us how GREAT his day was is any parents dream.
Cheryl truly deserves ALL of this recognition and more for her dedication to her students over the past 30+ years."
We surprised Cheryl at her school with gifts from Concrete Image Hair Salon, Coyote Moon Grille, Great Harvest Bread Company and an award from All-Star Trophy & Awards. Way to go, Cheryl, and thanks for all the awesome work you do!
