Minnesota’s Most Dangerous Intersection is in St. Cloud

According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, one of the most dangerous intersections to drive through in the state is right here in St. Cloud. 

The intersection is the one where HWY 15 and HWY 23 meet on 2nd St. South. This study was done in 2013 and used crash data from 2008 to 2012 to draw it's conclusions, but base on the fact that most intersections on the top list haven't changed in the past decade, it is safe to say the data is still relevant.

Based on this weighted scale, the St. Cloud intersection had the highest number of total crashes and the highest crash rate in the state. It also had the highest possible injury crashes.

#1 - MN 15 at HWY 23 & 2nd St S, St. Cloud
#2 - I94 at Snelling Ave. North Ramps, St. Paul
#3 - Hiawatha (HWY 55) & E 26th St, Minneapolis
#4 - MN 252 & 66th Ave, Brooklyn Center
#5 - US 169 & County Road 81, Brooklyn Park

Hopefully the next time this study is done the crash rate will be decreased, and St. Cloud won't be at the top of this list!
