The road construction along Lincoln Ave on the East Side of St. Cloud continues. Coming up next week, August 4th-8th, residents looking to access businesses on Lincoln will need to be aware of additional utility work being done, and drivers should expect a closed intersection in the next few weeks.

Storm Sewer Work Continues

The section of Lincoln that sits between 7th Street SE and 4th Street SE will continue to see storm sewer work the week of August 4th - 8th, weather permitting. The work will occasionally make portions of the road inaccessible, but the interruptions shouldn't last longer than 90 minutes. Access to businesses like the Lincoln Depot, BP, the Value Connection, and Townsquare Media can be made by using the intersection at 7th Street SE.

During the construction update meeting on Wednesday, it was noted that surface restoration would continue on the same stretch of road, making it easier to drive on. Drivers should expect a gravel surface until the contractor is ready for asphalt.

Intersection Closure Coming

The intersection of 4th Street SE and Lincoln Ave will be closed for a few days in the next few weeks for more utility work. There will be a detour for motorists, and local access will be provided for the area businesses. There hasn't been a date set yet for this intersection closure, but it should only be closed, weather permitting, for up to 3 days.

Nothing Planned Yet For East St. Germain to 1st Street SE

Businesses like Val's shouldn't be worried about construction coming to their section of Lincoln Ave yet, but as work continues up to Division from the South, work will transition across Division sometime towards the end of August and/or early September.

Completion Date Set Sometime In October 2025

It's hard to believe that in 3 months the scope of the project will be done, but the current timeline provided by the City of St. Cloud was in October of 2025, so fingers crossed we continue to get some dry weather, which will allow the contractors to get their work done without real delay.
