This MN Bar Is Serving One Of The Most Minnesota Apps Ever
Sometimes the universe will give you a sign, and this might be yours. A Minnesota bar was recently highlighted on TikTok for one of the appetizers that it sells. The app, just might be one of the most Minnesotan things I've seen show up on a menu, and no, it isn't Minnesota sushi. So what was the app that had parts of the internet abuzz?
Most Minnesotan Menu Item?
TikTok user @katiekocherer82 posted on the social media site back on October 25th about her experience up on the North Shore in Duluth, and noted a 'new experience' for the lifelong Minnesotan.
Katie and her family went to a bar to eat after her nephew's soccer game, and that bar, The Other Place Bar & Grille, located at 3930 E Calvary Road in Duluth, had an appetizer on the menu that surprised her enough to make a video.
So what was the app on the menu that had Katie so surprised? It wasn't Minnesota Sushi, nor was it the always delicious fried SPAM sliders. The Duluth bar was serving up something that would put a smile on most rugged of Minnesotans' faces; they were offering up an appetizer of chips and Top the Tater dip.
Were The Chips A Party Foul?
Katie went on to state in her video that there was something wrong with the app, in her opinion. The chips that came with the Top the Tater, a sour cream and chive chip dip that comes in a bright green container, didn't seem to be Minnesota's own, Old Dutch Rip-L chips, but what Katie described as being a 'knock-off Ruffle'.

The appetizer option on the menu doesn't specifically name the brand of chips that are served with the popular chip dip, but from her video, it did appear that the chips in question were NOT Rip-L chips from Old Dutch.
The nice thing about this app is that they are even available after the kitchen closes, so you can seemingly enjoy the chips and Top the Tater anytime the bar is open.
What's Your Go-To MN-Centric Snack?
Minnesotans get a hard time for some of the snacks we enjoy, like Minnesota Sushi, but that doesn't stop us from enjoying them. What is your go-to Minnesota-made snack? Would Jolly Jack Spread make your top-5 list?
