MEA Weekend Activities for the Kids in Central Minnesota
Happy MEA Week Central MN students and parents! A short school week means a twice as long weekend. Here are a few activities going on around the area to keep everyone entertained.
1. Molitor's Haunted Acres - Sauk Rapids- Extended Dates!
MHA will be open on Wednesday and Thursday nights of MEA week for some extra scares! Gates open at 7 PM Oct. 17th - 20th.
2. Harvest of Horror - St. Augusta
Friday and Saturday night get out of the house and get ready for a scare! 7- 11 PM Harvest of Horror in St. Augusta is ready to entertain you over MEA break.
3. The Revolutionists Play - SCSU
St. Cloud State theatre students will present their take on the French Revolution with “The Revolutionists” Oct. 17-21 on the Performing Arts Center Stage. A great opportunity for older kids to explore and indulge in the arts over MEA.
4. Pumpkinfest - Lake George
Friday Oct. 19th from 4- 7 PM kids and families can enjoy trick or treat stations, petting zoo, pumpkin patch, face painting, hayrides and more! There will also be a hay maze and dance party! This event is totally free!
5. Halloween Historia - Stearns County History Museum
Just because the kids aren't in school doesn't mean they can't learn. And this will be a fun way to do it. Halloween Historia will take place from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, October 20. Ride a hay wagon through Heritage Park. Find your way out of a tricky hay bale maze. Pet a llama, miniature goat, or pot-bellied pig at the petting zoo. This popular fall event is a community tradition for area families – providing an opportunity for children, parents and grandparents to enjoy Halloween customs and learn a bit about our area’s history. Costumes are encouraged! Admission just $4 for all ages.
6. Skatin' Place - St. Cloud - Extended Hours
Time to burn off some energy? Skatin' Place is open extra hours over MEA break to help with that! Thursday the 18th they are open Noon - 4 PM for skating. Friday they open at Noon as well. See the full calendar here!
