Last Minute Stocking Stuffer? Charlie Brown to Save the Day!
Every year at this time kids and adults alike look forward to watching A Charlie Brown Christmas. It's not just here in Minnesota that people look forward to that special, but people throughout all of America.
However, it may be even closer to our hearts in Minnesota since the creator of the Peanuts, Charles Schulz, was from right here in our incredible state. Charles Schulz was born in Minneapolis and lived in St. Paul. He went to Central High School in St. Paul.
Earlier this year the Minnesota History Center opened a display dedicated to him. "The Life & Art of Charles M. Schulz" and it's recently been refreshed for the Holidays!
Snoopy is here for the holidays! Our Schulz display case got a refresh with winter-themed items that are on display for a limited time on the first floor of the History Center. While you're at it, don't forget to check out the full special exhibit, The Life & Art of Charles M. Schulz, curated by the Charles M. Schulz Museum.
If you have a Peanuts fan on your holiday list, this could be a great last minute stocking stuffer. When they originally put this display together they included students from his alma mater of Central High School and made them a part of the display.
The Peanuts comic strip debuted in 1950. A Charlie Brown Christmas debuted in 1965. Yet the comic strip and the Christmas Special and everything Peanuts hold up today just as strong as they did over 70 years ago. The display at the Minnesota History Center is set to run through June 9, 2024.
