Father Charged With Murder Of Son In Shocking Case
A Minnesota man was arrested and charged with 2nd degree murder this morning in an Anoka County Courtroom. The father of missing Minnesota teen Jordan 'Manny' Collins was charged this morning in court for the murder of the 16-year-old, who was initially reported missing in May by his mother.
Charged with 2nd Degree Murder
The father, Jordan Dupree Collins Sr., made his initial appearance this morning in Anoka County to face a 2nd degree murder charge in the death of his 16-year-old son. Collins is currently facing a single charge of 2nd degree murder with intent-not-premeditated.
The criminal complaint states that Collins told law enforcement on May 12, 2025, after they were contacted by Manny's mother, that he last saw his son on May 8th, in the afternoon, after Manny told him he was going to see his grandmother and girlfriend.
Law enforcement then contacted the girlfriend, and she explained that on May 8th she had a video call with Manny until she fell asleep in the early morning hours, and that at no point did Manny indicate that he had planned to come over later that day. It was also noted that at the time of the video call, Manny was seen to be in the apartment where he was staying with his father, Manny Dupree Collins.
On May 15th, law enforcement conducted a search warrant at the apartment of Manny's father, where they discovered "items with apparent blood staining in garbage bags in a living room closet. Law enforcement also located several butcher/hunting-style knives in the apartment’s bedroom closet." It was also noted in the search warrant that a mattress was found to have pieces cut out of it, along with pieces of carpet and carpet padding that were cut and removed, which were under the mattress.
According to the charging document, the blood stains were subsequently tested and found to match Manny's blood type. Law Enforcement also looked at video footage of a garbage truck picking up trash from a dumpster located at the apartment on May 13th, and used the truck's GPS data to track it to the Elk River landfill, where, after a nearly month-long search, Manny Collins' body was found.
After Manny's body was located, an autopsy was conducted, which determined homicide as the cause of death, most likely caused by decapitation with a knife.
Various knives were seized by law enforcement from the apartment.
Missing Teen Had Attention Of Various Agencies During Search
After Manny Collins was reported as being missing, various law enforcement agencies became involved in the search for Manny, including the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, the Columbia Heights Police Department, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The investigation became focused on the Elk River Landfill after a garbage truck that picked up trash from Collins' apartment complex on May 13th dumped the trash off.
Collins' next court appearance, and omnibus hearing, is scheduled for August 4th.

Collins is currently being held in the Anoka County Jail.
