A man whose homophobic dad previously kicked him out as a teen simply for being gay has returned the favor by rejecting his dad's plea to move in with him.

"When I was 16, I was outed by a guy I was seeing. Don't know why, just out of the blue one day some family members were messaged by him with some photos of us as proof," the young man began on Reddit.

After finding out he was gay, his dad "flipped his sh--" and proceeded to kick him out of the house.

His mom, who is supportive of him, divorced his dad soon after.

"Last year, [my] mom's rental she was in was being sold. I let her live rent-free in my place for a while till she found her own place. Dad heard about this not long ago from one of my siblings, since then he's texting to stay and one of my siblings (the rest are smart enough not to touch this with a 10-foot pole) are even asking on his behalf," he recalled.

His dad has apparently been living in "men's shelters" since his mom left him, and he "gambled everything away."

Each time his sister asks if their dad can move in with him, he laughs and emphatically says no.

In the comments, users applauded the man for standing up to his dad.

"He kicked out his homosexual child, attempted to make them homeless, and he ended up losing literally everything plus his family and is now homeless himself. Karma kicks ass. Laugh harder," one person wrote.

"You aren’t good enough to live in his home due to his sh---y beliefs. Well guess what, he isn’t good enough to live with you because he’s NOT a decent human being," another shared.

"Text your dad and tell your sister that the privilege of staying with you is reserved for those who love and support you, not those that abused and abandoned you," someone else commented.
