Minnesota’s Land O’Lakes Just Got Named America’s Most Trusted Butter Brand
It's something most of us use every single day, and there are plenty of options lining the dairy aisle, but according to a new survey from Newsweek, one butter brand stands above the rest.
A Minnesota Original, Over 100 Years in the Making
Founded in 1921 by a cooperative of just over 300 Minnesota dairy farmers, Land O'Lakes is one of the state's oldest and most storied companies. Today, the cooperative spans more than 1,200 dairy producers, 500-plus agricultural producers, and over 800 retail owners across all 50 states and more than 60 countries, making it a true global powerhouse.

Having spent more than a century perfecting its craft, it should come as no surprise that Land O'Lakes knows how to make butter. Their butter has become a kitchen staple across the United States and a brand that generations of consumers have come to trust.
35,000 Shoppers Weighed In, and the Answer Was Clear
Newsweek surveyed 35,000 American shoppers about their most trusted grocery brands. The publication uses what it calls an "unaided awareness" approach, meaning respondents weren't handed a list of brands to choose from. It was all top-of-mind, organic recognition.

When it came to the butter aisle, Land O'Lakes rose to the top. Shoppers across the country named it the most trusted butter brand, a distinction that speaks to decades of consistent quality and reliability.
Trust Built in the Dairy Case, Not in a Marketing Department
Newsweek noted that trust in these top-ranked brands is driven less by advertising and more by consumer confidence, specifically the expectation of knowing exactly what you're going to get every time you reach into that familiar yellow package.
Heather Anfang, President of Dairy Foods and Executive Vice President of Land O'Lakes, responded to the recognition: "This reinforces what our farmer-owners and teams work toward every day, delivering butter and delicious dairy products people can count on."
For a brand born on the dairy farms of Minnesota and now found in kitchens from Duluth to Dubai, that kind of trust doesn't come from a campaign. It comes from over 100 years of doing the work.
