
WalletHub Says These Minnesota Cities Are Great for Women
When it comes to finding a place to settle down, build a career, or even start a family, there are countless factors to weigh. Opportunities can vary widely from one city to another, and for women, some of those considerations can look a little different.
WalletHub Study Looks at Women’s Opportunities in MN
That’s why WalletHub took a closer look at how different cities across the United States measure up for women. Their research considered factors like the number of women-owned businesses, average earnings for women, and the quality of women’s hospitals. Altogether, 182 cities were compared in the study, giving a broad picture of where women might have the best chances to thrive.

Minnesota Cities Rank in the Top 20
Two Minnesota cities landed in the top 20 for 2025. Columbia, Maryland, took the overall #1 spot, while Jackson, Mississippi, came in last. Minneapolis was ranked 8th overall with a score of 68.55. The city placed 19th in Women’s Economic & Social Well-Being and 32nd in Women’s Health Care & Safety.

Just across the river, St. Paul secured the 19th spot with an overall score of 65.70. St. Paul ranked 32nd in economic and social well-being and 37th in health care and safety.
Why These Rankings Matter For Minnesota Women
