ST. PAUL -- Lace up your running shoes and share in a day of community, hope and prevention this weekend.

The Jacob Wetterling Resource Center is hosting the first ever Running Home for Jacob 5K Saturday at Lake Phalen Park in St. Paul.

Saturday marks the anniversary of when Jacob of abducted an killed back in 1989.

The race is meant to help raise awareness of the issues of safety, prevention and unified purpose to create a world where kids can grow up safe.

A youth race will start at 9:00 a.m. followed by the 5K at 10:00 a.m. along with many family activities.

Cost to participate is $35.00 per person. All proceeds from the event will go to the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center.
