When I was growing up, Black Friday was an event in my family.

The whole extended family would gather at my grandparent's home for a relaxed Thanksgiving Day of too much food and plenty of football. That night, we'd crash into beds or couches or sleeping bags, and the next morning all the women would wake up early and head out to conquer Black Friday. When my sisters and I were young, our crazy aunt Terri would usually take us to see a movie; as we got older, however, my sisters began joining the ladies for their annual Black Friday excursions. I only went out if I actually needed or really wanted something, and even then it was only an item or two.

Well, Black Friday has been looking more and more different in recent years, with many deals beginning earlier and being offered online. This year is no exception. According to personal finance website Wallethub, 70% of survey consumers are “not likely at all” or “somewhat unlikely” to shop in stores on Black Friday this year. Retailers know that, and have been promoting and even running deals for weeks already. Determined to find the best Black Friday deals this year, Wallethub survey nearly 7,000 deals from 26 of the biggest US retailers on categories including Apparel and Accessories, computers and phones, consumer electronics, toys, appliances, furniture, jewelry and more.
