With baseball fans hopeful the shortened 2020 season will continue, the Minnesota Twins have released their 2021 MLB schedule.

In a optimistic move, Major League Baseball has the schedule back at the customary 162 games, up from this season's COVID-shortened 60 game season.

In a season opening border battle, the MLB has the Twins traveling to Milwaukee for an interleague matchup against the Brewers to launch the 2021 campaign on April 1st. The Brewers will return the favor in late August at Target Field in Minneapolis.

Minnesota's 2021 home opener will take place on April 8th, hosting the Seattle Mariners for three games. The Red Sox follow for four games in the Twin Cities.

Minnesota's National League matchups for 2021 include games against Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and the Chicago Cubs.

I still have my 2020 home opener tickets on my fridge, along with another couple of games that never materialized this summer due to the coronavirus pandemic. The word from the team is that I'll get a credit towards games next summer.

Although stadiums will be mostly empty, you can watch the 2020 60-game season's Minnesota Twins games on Fox Sports North, and hear the play-by-play on St. Cloud's WJON (AM 1240/95.3 FM).

Pete Hanson is on 98.1 Minnesota's New Country weekday mornings from 5:30 to 10:00.
