Furry Friends and Owners Gather for Bark For Life Walk [PHOTOS]
SARTELL -- Some dogs were furry, others were drooling but all were excited to go for a walk this (Saturday) morning in Sartell.
Over 100 people gathered at Pinecone Central Park for the Bark For Life Walk to support the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life.
Event Coordinator Jessica Ostendorf says "It [the walk] promotes the human animal bond and how pets are great caretakers for people who are going through cancer treatments."
Walkers and their dogs walked a total of one and a half miles on the Pinecone Central Dog Park path.
Other than the walk the event included a silent auction and other contests walkers could do with their dogs.
Ostendorf says last year Relay for Life raised nearly $6,000 and this year's goal is to raise $10,000.
All proceeds from the event go toward supporting cancer research.
