Costco Extends Hours for Some – Do You Have THIS Membership?
Costco. It's one of those places where if you shop there and you walk out without spending $100 or more, that's a win. It's not that things are crazy expensive, but when you buy in bulk, you tend to spend a bit more than usual. If you compare prices of a single item, than buying in bulk, you probably are saving some money in the long run.

Costco usually has some great items that are a lot cheaper than if you bought the same item at a regular big box store. And those things are not necessarily in bulk. Seasonal items. apparel, and some food items like bakery things that you may order or just pick up what is available.
MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS & PERKS
There are a couple of membership options. Each comes with a different price and perk. The top tier membership is the Executive Membership, and now that one is getting even more perks than before.
IS IT WORTH IT
The Executive Membership is the most expensive with the cost recently going up to $130 per year. Even though that sounds pricey, and it is, there is a way that you don't have to pay that much...ever. With this membership you get 2% back on what you buy. That is given to you in the form of a check from Costco about 2 months before you membership is set to renew. I have never paid for a full membership in the 10 years that I have been a Costco member.
EXTRA HOURS FOR EXECUTIVE MEMBERS
Now, Costco has added another perk for it's Executive Members. Hours have changed. This started yesterday, June 30th, Costco will now be open an hour earlier for just those members. Costco is now open at 9am for those members, and 10am for any other membership. They will also be open until 7pm on Saturdays for everyone - no matter what membership you have. They normally closed at 6pm on Saturdays.
Costco's early executive membership shopping hours
- Monday-Friday: 9-10 a.m.
- Saturday: 9-9:30 a.m.
- Sunday: 9-10 a.m.
I have heard people complaining that Costco doesn't allow anyone in the household to use the Costco membership. The Executive Membership does allow for that perk.
Costco Executive Members already receive the benefits of Gold Star membership, including warehouse access, Costco fuel access and a free household card.
GAS PURCHASE DISCOUNT
Purchasing gas at Costco is almost worth the membership right there. The gas is already less expensive, plus you get more of a discount when you use the Costco anywhere card. You will get 4% off your gas purchase. But, the trick is to pay it off each month.
Executive Members also receive an annual 2% reward on qualified purchases, as well as discounts on Costco services.
Costco revealed in the email that executive members will receive a monthly $10 credit for orders of $150 placed through the company's "Same-Day" service or Instacart.
NEVER ACTUALLY PAY FOR THE MEMBERSHIP AGAIN
If you want to shop at Costco when it's not completely crazy, the extra membership might be worth it just for that. Plus, if you are getting the 2% back, the membership pays for itself. Perfect.
