A man from Clearwater, FL is in some hot water after shooing a surprising guest off his boat.

Oh, you thought this story was about a Clearwater, MN man? No, Minnesota men are too humane and respectful of wildlife for something like this.

In a video that has since gone viral, an attorney from Clearwater, Florida is seen shooing a raccoon off his boat about 20 miles offshore.

"Get off my f---cking boat!" he yells at the stowaway. "We're just going to have to push him off."

The raccoon appears to slip off the boat and into the water. "So long, sucker!" the man says, watching the raccoon flounder before ending the video.

The video, which has garnered over 35k views, has led to widespread backlash and disgust.

"its [sic] one thing to hunt animals for food or maybe not even like a particular animal, but to leave one 20 miles out in the ocean to suffer a horrible death is not what true “outdoorsman” do."

"Cruelty...it’s like a kid throwing a cat against a wall."

The man has since apologized for his actions, saying "I apologize for my actions on the boat earlier this week. I sincerely wish there was some way I could have safely returned to shore to release the raccoon."

Because raccoons can be rabid and unpredictable, the only "realistic option" at the moment, he claims, was getting it off the boat.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conversation Commission are currently investigating.

My two cents worth? I don't know for certain what I could have done were it me with a stowaway raccoon on my boat. But I certainly wouldn't have filmed it and made light of it the way this guy did!
