They may not "want it that way," but "it's social distancing!"

As of Tuesday night March 17 at 5:00pm, all Minnesota restaurants, bars, and places of public accommodation and amusement have been placed under a temporary closing to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. While those that are able still offer drive-thru, curbside pickup or delivery options, not all are so fortunate. One west central Minnesota brewery owned up to its closing in brilliantly musical fashion.

The folks at Outstate Brewing Co. in Fergus Falls took to Facebook Tuesday afternoon with a little parody song -- presumably titled "It's Social Distancing" -- performed to the well-loved tune of Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way."

"We have to shut down," the crew sings as head brewer Pat Lundberg strums on guitar, "We know you will frown // But it's a real thing // It's social distancing."

Take a listen:

"THAT is the BEST THING I have seen come out of this epidemic!!! WELL done Outstate!! Class and talented act!!" applauded on fan.

"That made my day!!" praised another.

Like many breweries and small businesses around the state, Outstate Brewing is asking consumers to support however they can -- whether ordering beer or take out to go, utilizing drive-thru or delivery options or just stocking up at the local liquor store. Mix 94.9 has put together a helpful list of Central Minnesota restaurants and eateries that are remaining open with limited options during the temporary closure here. Consider supporting local and showing them we care.
