I'm a Chapstick brand-snob.

My lips are forever chapped, and for as long as I can remember I've always had a Chapstick in my pocket (now that I say that out loud, it sounds like a conspiracy by Chapstick to keep me thinking I'm dependent on their lip balm).

Anyways, last week, I used up the last of my Chapstick. My wife Katie very kindly bought me some more lip balm. Unfortunately, she got me a new lip balm I've never used before -- Softlips slim-stick vanilla-flavored protectant/sunscreen. It was greasy and gross on my lips and looked like a cigarette. I hated it. That's when I realized -- I'm a Chapstick brand-snob. And I'm ok with that.

Convinced I'm not alone and curious to know what our listeners may be brand snobs about, I took to Facebook to find out. "Are there any foods or products you HAVE to have a certain brand of?" I asked at the Mix 94.9 Facebook page.

Sure enough, Central Minnesota did not disappoint.

"Campbell’s tomato soup, Heinz ketchup, cheez-its," said Heather.

Cheeze-Its and Heinz ketchup earned several more mentions.

"Heinz ketchup, Skippy creamy peanut butter, cheese its, dawn dish soap (blue)," said Carolyn, getting very specific with her dish soap.

"Only Dawn Dish soap for me!" agreed Carmen. "NOTHING can beat it."

"Thousand Hills Grass Fed beef sticks, Frank’s RedHot and French’s Mustard," were Rebecca's answers.

"Baked beans. Must be Bush's original," insisted Kei. "No, absolutely no beans in tomato sauce!"

"Cream cheese...it has to be Philadelphia cream cheese," insisted Mikkie, "and water...if it's not filtered from my tap it has to be ice mountain spring water!!!!"

"Kraft macaroni and cheese," said Tammy.

"Oreo cookies," said Patty.

Turns out, I'm not the only brand snob!
