Does This Building On Division Street Serve The Best Tacos In St. Cloud?
Tuesday night, my family had some errands to run in St. Cloud, so we opted instead of making something at home to eat, to grab something between the grocery store and some other errands. Little did I know that I was going to stumble across some of the best tacos I've had in recent memory. Did you know that this building just off Division Street houses some of the best tacos around (IMO)?
We Were Looking For Something That Wouldn't Break The Bank
Knowing that we shouldn't grocery shop on an empty stomach, we were looking for a place we hadn't been to before, but also one that wouldn't break our bank accounts, knowing we would be running errands afterwards. I pulled up Google Maps on my phone, and blindly selected a spot not too far from a few of the places we needed to go to, and off we went.
We ended up at the VFW Granite Post 428, and unsure if they would be open to the public tonight, as they do host events, we called them before arriving to make sure they would be open for dinner. The person answering the phone let us know they were open and to stop in.
Tuesdays Are For Tacos
We walked in around 5:30 and didn't know that the kitchen wasn't quite open yet; luckily, the bartender gave us two options for dinner.
Pizza or tacos.
We both looked at each other for a moment and decided on the tacos. They were a steal of a deal at $6 for 3 soft shell beef tacos, and we got sour cream and taco sauce.
I was starving, so we both ordered three tacos for ourselves, and then we each got a drink.
When the tacos came out, you could tell everything was made to order. The lettuce, tomato, and onion were fresh and recently diced, and the tortillas were soft. What I appreciated is that the tacos weren't overloaded with toppings, you could still curl up the sides, and eat without all the filling falling out.
The Bill Was The Best Part
After my wife and I wrapped up our meals and drinks, we asked for the bill so we could be on our way to finish our errands. The bartender came back with our bill, set it down, and said she'd be back. When we flipped it over to see what we owed, we both shot each other a quick grin. Less than $20! It was $19.75!
The Tacos Were Really That Good
I ended up talking about those darn tacos this morning, and I made my co-host hungry just talking about how good they were. I don't know if the bartender, I forget her name (sorry), put them together or if it was the cook before opening up the kitchen for the night, but we plan on heading back in the next few weeks and seeing if we can duplicate our luck.

Thanks, VFW Granite Post 428, our dinner was great!
