SARTELL - The Sartell A&W was handing out free root beer floats today (Thursday) as part of National Root Beer Float Day. The are also raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Sartell A&W Manager Robert Perkins says anyone who comes in between 2:00 p.m. and close will get a free root beer float. You are also asked to donate to the project.

Perkins says, "We teamed up with the Wounded Warrior Project. What that is, is an organization that helps veterans that are coming back from in the military that have emotional, financial, physical conditions; it provides support for them."

During last year's campaign A&W raised over $200,000 across the nation for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Perkins says they have a donation box at the store where you can donate. You can also donate by going to www.rootbeerfloatday.com.

"Being a part of all that, and continuing the history that goes on is exciting," says Perkins.

Helping out with the event was WJON's Jim Maurice, Mix 94.9's Chad Taylor, and 98.1 Minnesota's New Country's Pete Hanson.
