The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has made it super simple to make sure you're following state law this fishing opener. You can apply for a fishing license online through the DNR's website.

It's really easy too. If you're a new user to the website, you'll need to create a new account. Once your account is created you will be asked to select the type of license you're applying for.

You can pay for your fishing license online with your credit card and a three percent convenience fee will be charged. You can choose to either print your license off on your home printer or have it sent to you by mail. There's an additional $1.65 fee if you choose to have your license mailed to you.

That's it! It's super simple and you can even register your boat online too. You don't have to stand in line anywhere so there's no excuse to be out on the water without your fishing license this year! Plus, buying a license is way cheaper than paying the pricey fine you could get for fishing without it.
