Talk about a bizarre beer run.

This is why I never drink alone - so I don't do something this stupid.

The AP is reporting that Raymond Roberge of Bridgeport, CT, dialed 911 three times on Sunday. When authorities finally showed up to his house, the 65-year-old man gave them money "to go to the store and buy him some beer."

That's right, there was no emergency.  He was just out of beer.

I will admit, my friends and I have often thought about how cool it would be, if their were some kind of  "liquor delivery service" in our area.  I never thought about having the cops bring me my booze, though.

As you might guess, Roberge was arrested and charged with misusing the 911 system before he was released on $500 bond. He now faces criminal charges, according to the report.

The report adds that Roberge has dialed 911 upwards of 79 times, including one instance in which he offered police "$20 and some loose change to sit with him."

Another time he dialed 911 - it was to have Chinese food delivered.

This is why I don't want my son to drink.

"Hello, 911 - what is your emergency?"

"Um, yeah, can you bring me an order of sweet n' sour pork, with fried rice, and a couple of egg rolls."
