Andy Griffith Has Died

A family friend close to the actor is confirming that the legendary actor has passed away.

The Sheriff of Dare County where the actor lived says that an ambulance was called to his home this morning at about 7am eastern time, but wouldn't comment on the condition of the person the ambulance was called for.

Bill Friday, former University of North Carolina President says that an ambulance was called for Andy, but sadly, he did not make it.

Andy Griffith was 86.
