9 Countries Outside the U.S. You Can Get Caribou Coffee
A photo recently shared to the Minnesota thread of Reddit appears to show a Caribou Coffee location in Seoul, South Korea.
"Saw this Caribou Coffee in Seoul," Reddit user Billtheleaf captioned the photo. "Does anyone know if it's affiliated with the Minnesota company?"

"I noticed a few dozen locations in the Middle East and SEA when perusing through Google Earth," Billtheleaf continues, "so a store in SK makes sense. The one in SK also had a rustic northwoods feel to it, very strange to see out there."
The post's comment section generally agrees: yes, the Caribou Coffee spotted is the same brand and company based out of Minnesota.
"Starting in the mid-00s they have been pursuing international expansion," shared one person. "It was a little odd being in Dubai and stopping by a Caribou with the north woods décor."
"Saw one when I was traveling through India a couple years ago,' shared another person of their experience. "Was flying through the Mumbai airport at like 4am and saw one, though I was hallucinating at the time."
"Yeah! There was one in the basement of my dorm when I studied abroad in Seoul," commented a third. "It was such a lovely reminder of home. It's gone now, unfortunately. For some reason, Caribou didn't take off."
In 2020, Caribou Coffee was named the 8th largest coffee company in the world by Zippia with locations in the United States, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. According to Caribou Coffee's website, there are currently no locations in South Korea. There are, however, locations in nine other countries outside of the United States. They are:
- Saudi Arabia
- United Arab Emirates
According to Zippia, Caribou Coffee operates 273 locations in the United States and franchises an additional 203 stores across the world. In May 2012 Caribou Coffee opened its milestone 100th international location in Istanbul, Turkey.
