8 Dead Dogs Dumped Along Suburban Twin Cities Highway
Cottage Grove, MN (KROC-AM News) - Police in a Twin Cities suburb are investigating the discovery of eight dead dogs along a rural road.
The Cottage Grove Police Department says an officer discovered the deceased dogs Sunday afternoon along a highway into an area of the Mississippi River backwaters known as Grey Island. A news release indicates all of the dogs were smaller breeds and ranged from puppies to adults
The officers involved also indicated that it appeared the remains of the dogs had been left at the site very recently. The Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley is assisting with the investigation into what is being described as a potential animal cruelty incident.
Cottage Grove authorities are asking anyone who was in the area and saw a stopped vehicle to contact the Cottage Grove Department of Public Safety. Investigators would also like to hear from anyone with information that might help them identify the person or persons responsible.
