3 River Float Trips to Take In Minnesota This Summer
For my crew, nothing is better than floating down a river with a cooler full of drinks, getting a horrible sunburn. It's a must-do every summer. Here are three river floating trips to take this upcoming season.
Rum River - Country Camping Tent and RV Park- Isanti
This campground offers kayaks, canoes, and tubes of all sizes. plus you can park your camper or tent there and stay for a while! They also have a shuttle that takes you to the starting point where you launch off and have a nice 2 mile float back to the camp ground. The average time is between 1.5 and three hours depending on the river conditions.
Cannon River - Welch Mill Canoeing and Tubing - Welch
Welch Mill Canoeing and Tubing offers guided tubing trips down the Cannon River, and they offer long and short trips. Weekday tube rentals are $10, and weekend and holiday rentals are $12.
Long Prairie River - Long Prairie
For the more adventurous tuber. There are no guided floats, so you are on your own so go at your own risk. My suggestion (from experience) get on the river at the bridge on the intersection of County RD 11 and County RD 86. Park a car at one of the canoe launch sites along County 38 so you have a ride back to your original launch site.
