2 Buildings Destroyed By Fire Near Marty

MARTY - Two buildings near Marty were destroyed in a fire.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says the initial call came in at about 4:00 p.m. yesterday (Monday) from 30-year-old Philip Konz of Kimball on County Road 8, a half-mile southeast of Marty.

Konz was burning some twine and other items in a fire pit when the fire jumped across the lawn and caught a hay shed on fire, about 20 feet away from the fire pit. From there the barn also started on fire.

They are both a total loss.

No animals were killed.

There were no injuries.
