A popular railroad crossing in southeast St. Cloud will be closed for a few days while crews make road repairs. Seventh Street Southeast will be closed starting tomorrow (Wednesday) until sometime Friday.
Construction work on Highway 15 between St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids has been pushed back a week. The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the overnight lane closures will begin Monday, April, 18.
With a lack of space inside the public works facility, the Waite Park city council is looking at constructing a new building. During this (Thursday) morning's work session the council looked over design options for the proposed building. Public Works Director Bill Schluenz says a new facility has been in discussion for the last seventeen years.
Construction of a downtown St. Cloud parking ramp will finally begin next week. City crews will be closing 5th Avenue North to traffic as part of the construction project.
Plans are in the works to improve traffic flow along Heritage Drive and Stearns County Road 1 in Sartell. County Engineer Jodi Teich says the project includes a roundabout at that intersection.
Many Sartell businesses are staying positive, despite a dip in sales, as construction on a roundabout continues. The signs may say open, but the roads still say closed and local business, like The Blue Line, are feeling the heat.
