The U.S. took home more medals yesterday, are now beating China and have broken our all time gold medal record, Usain Bolt took more more hardware yesterday and made more history. Are the U.S. women's gymnasts going wild in London?

The U.S. won nine more medals yesterday; five gold, three silver and a bronze. The women's soccer team beat Japan in soccer 2-1 and Carli Lloyd scored both of the goals. The ladies are now 75 thousand dollars richer thanks to their win. Our women's water polo team beat Spain 8-5 to take home the gold and five of our goals came from Maggie Steffens. Ashton Eaton and Trey Hardee took gold and silver in the men's decathlon and Christian Taylor and Will Claye grabbed gold and silver in the triple jump. Women's boxing made its debut in London this summer and a 17 year old named Claressa Shields from Michigan took home the first gold medal in the middleweight division. Claressa is a senior in high school, by the way and will be returning to her hometown of Flint to complete her high school education next month. Way to go Claressa! Haley Anderson took silver in open water swimming and Terrence Jennings grabbed bronze in men's featherweight taekwondo. That brings our total medal count to 90 medals. We have 39 gold, 25 silver and 26 bronze and we are now 10 medals ahead of China. Russia, Great Britain and Germany round out the top five.

Jamaican runner Usain Bolt took gold in the 100 meter dash Sunday and won gold in the 200 meter dash yesterday, making him the first runner in Olympic history to win the 100 meter and 200 meter sprint in two straight Olympics. Usain's Jamaican team mates also took home the silver and bronze in the 200 meter.

It sounds like Aly Raisman and the rest of the U.S. women's gymnastics team are partying it up in London, but things aren't always what they seem. Yesterday, Aly sent out a tweet that sounds like it was meant as a private message to someone, but it went out to all of her followers. It said, "Okay I have no idea were going with the guy gymnasts to some club I'll find out for you were so nervous. OMG" but when the Twitter account was checked later, the tweet was gone and was replaced with "So excited to go to sleep early tonight :) long but fun day!!!" Upon further inspection, the first tweet didn't come from a verified account. The tweet about sleeping did. I can't imagine that Marta Karolyi would put up with that. By the way, if you haven't seen the McKayla Maroney fake tumblr account, it will likely improve your day by 216 percent.
