More records were broken yesterday, basketball drama, a hilarious story about a kayaker, which school has won the most medals, which Olympic athlete do you look like and who won medals yesterday and what's the medal count?

The Opening Ceremony for the London 2012 Olympics topped the ratings heap. Forty million people watched. Did you? I was bored. Even though it was yawn inducing up until about the last 20 minutes or so, it was the most watched Opening Ceremony of any Olympics ever. The coverage is also getting huge numbers, too. Almost 65 million people have watched just the first two days' worth of events.

The U.S. men's basketball team won in huge fashion yesterday. We walked in to the game as 50 point favorites against Tunisia and when the final buzzer rang, the U.S. won 110 to 63, a 47 point difference, but it was before the game that the drama took place. One of the coaches for Team Tunisia thought one of the players wasn't paying attention, so he hauled off and smacked him across the face. Yeah. That's the way you get people to respect you. Beat them up. After the game, one of the other players for Tunisia took advantage of a once in a lifetime opportunity. He walked up to Kobe Bryant, took off his shoe and asked Kobe to sign it. Kobe obliged and the guy put his shoe back on. Hopefully he has another pair of shoes to wear.

Some of the other events that took place yesterday included the rowing and kayaking events and for the Olympics some of the best (read: picky) judges are asked to be a part of it. Yesterday, one of the judges issued a rather harsh penalty against a competitor from her own country. Slalom kayaker Mike Dawson illegally touched a gate and was penalized two seconds...BY HIS OWN MOTHER. Do you think this had anything to do with the fact that he wouldn't pick up his socks when he was younger? Mike admitted that his mom was a good judge and she made the right call. Even with the penalty, he still qualified for the next round and is still in medal contention.

I guess if you want to go to the Olympics, it's probably a good idea to attend the University of Southern California. Student athletes from that school have won a medal in every Olympics for the last hundred years. The streak was even kept alive in 1980 when the United States boycotted the Olympics in Moscow. That's because a swimmer by the name of Michelle Ford attended USC and she swam for Team Australia. Here's another fun fact. If USC were a country, they would have more medals than Poland, Canada, Greece, Spain and Brazil.

Want to know which Olympic athlete you look like? There's an online tool that helps you, thanks to the BBC. You don't always get someone of your same gender, but it's kind of funny. You just enter in your height and weight and it gives you your Olympic athlete body match. You can check it out HERE.

There were several medal events yesterday, but the biggest stories are the U.S. women's gymnastics team winning gold in the team event and Michael Phelps becoming the most decorated Olympian ever. It was really great to watch. I had stayed away from EVERYTHING yesterday so I didn't know what would happen. The "Fab Five" as they're now known had a big lead after the vault and the Russian team came unglued following a horrid performance on the vault. It spilled over into their performances on the balance beam and the floor exercises. The gold medal that the girls won yesterday was the first since 1996.

Michael Phelps is now known as the most decorated Olympic athlete in history after he grabbed the silver in his signature event, the 200 meter butterfly. Michael missed the gold by one twentieth of a second after he was out touched by Chad le Clos from South Africa. Had Michael won the gold in that event, he would have become the first man in history to win gold in an event in three straight Olympics. Michael and the rest of the U.S. men's relay team did however win gold in the 4 x 200 meter relay where Ryan Lochte, Conor Dwyer and Ricky Berens built a big lead and Michael swam the anchor leg. His individual medal count now stands at 19, but he could actually end up with a total of 22 medals. Michael still has the 200 meter individual medley, 100 meter butterfly and the 4 x 100 meter medley relay to go before his Olympics are over. Also winning a medal yesterday was Zara Phillips, the Queen's granddaughter. She took home silver in team equestrian.

The medal count now stands at 23 for the U.S. and China, who are tied for first. Japan, France and South Korea round out the top five.
