Local 411: Fundraiser For Jenn Lance September 19th

Chad and I are beginning a new local segment about events in our area. We reached out to our Mix listeners to keep us informed about fundraisers and activities that are happening, and we were excited about the quick response. I wanted to share this letter that we received from one of our listeners, whose sister is suffering from a rare condition called Sarcoidosis. Sarcoidosis can attack any part of the body but typically attacks the lungs. In severe cases, it can cause permanent damage, and sometimes people have to live with the disease for many years, or the rest of their lives.

Hi Kelly and Chad,

My husband heard you on the radio yesterday morning, saying that you guys wanted to know what's new in the area and what's happening.

I'm having a fundraiser for my sister. Now, I know that a fundraiser is nothing new. They happen every single day for one reason or another. However my sister has been diagnosed with something that is hardly ever talked about due to its rarity. There's, literally, only 1 doctor in Minnesota that cares for these patients. She was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis. Now, if you google this, plenty of links come up...but the most informational is wikipedia! Crazy, I know. Right?  now she's stage 3. We really don't even know what that means until she meets with Infectious Disease Docs at the end of the month.
