With the recent passing of Joan Rivers, I was reminded of how important it is to be able to laugh at yourself throughout  your life. Some people have a difficult time doing this. We all expect SO much out of ourselves, simply because of comments from people throughout our lives. Studies show that 2 out of 3 people suffer from low self esteem. Even though I never consider myself one of THOSE people, my friends are constantly reminding to stop putting myself down. Why? It's just to accept the things I cannot change.

ACCEPT YOURSELF FOR WHO YOU ARE

Whether it be physical aspects, or our personality, we all need to laugh at ourselves. Now...that's what I do. I talk about being an "Amazon Woman"...Well..I am! I'm a big boned, tall girl....But...I'm not unhappy because of it!  I like being tall...maybe not what I consider "big"....But I accept myself for who I am. I definitely have been hurt by comments from individuals who have carelessly thrown them at me for one reason or another, not actually knowing the real me. Some of those comments have stuck with me a lifetime. But....alas....we all have to take those comments with a grain of salt. Put them away in a drawer, and move on.

WHAT IS EATING AWAY AT YOUR SELF ESTEEM

Are you forgetful? Are you always burning the cookies? Or whatever you're making for supper?  Instead of letting it get you down..Embrace your faults. Make a positive of of the negatives...and always strive to be the best you. How do you make a positive out of Burned Chicken? Hey...Charring is in!

SEPARATE WHAT YOU DO, FROM WHO YOU ARE

Many of us are lucky enough to have jobs that we feel really define who we are. But a JOB or a BUSINESS doesn't define you as a person. Figure out what it is that makes you uniquely you....and enjoy every day that you have.

DOING STUPID THINGS

Everyday, I seem to do something silly. Most of the time, I have difficulty hearing in crowded rooms, or sometimes...I just misunderstand. It doesn't make me STUPID, even though I feel like it sometimes. Remember, it's how you handle the mistakes you make, and laughing at yourself can help you realize...being perfect? It's impossible! Perfection is being imperfect...and that's each one of us!
