For the second year in a row, Modist Brewing Company in Minneapolis is hosting a Valentine's Day Skate Night in their taproom.

"For the second straight year we'll be turning our brewery into a roller skating rink. No this isn't a joke. Come here, drink beer, hold hands, skate counter clockwise around in a circle."

Admission to the event is free; you can bring your own skates or rent a pair for $3. Because the rink is small ("because brewery"), groups will skate 30 minutes at a time, though you're welcome to jump back in line if you'd like to skate again!

If you can't make it to Modist Brewing's Skate Night, plan a trip to the taproom soon for their collaboration beer with Portage Brewing Co. in Walker, MN. Following Portage Brewing's devastating fire in early January, the two breweries have collaborated on a special fundraiser beer with 100% of proceeds going back to help Portage Brewing rebuild. Double Sun Protection Factor -- a  tropical fruit punch milkshake IPA -- will go on tap Saturday, February 16 and be available in can to purchase at liquor stores Monday, February 18.
