94 HOUR CROSBY CAT CHALLENGE HAS ENDED

The 94-Hour Crosby Cat Challenge was created by a long-time donor to The Tri-County Humane Society, to help with the cost of veterinary expenses for the Crosby cats that were brought in to TCHS. All donations that were made up to $5,000 were matched.

Pantown Brewing Company also helped boost the fundraising efforts by donating $1 per beer sold over the weekend to the Crosby Cat Challenge. Drew from Pantown's social media team stopped by TCHS and presented a check for $892 to TCHS Executive Director Merit Ortega.

Merit Ortega said on Facebook that TCHS is grateful to everyone who donated and/or shared the posts about the Crsoby Cat Challenge, and they are especially grateful to the donor who issued the matching challenge.

FINAL COUNT

I spoke with Executive Director Merit Ortegatoday, and she updated us on the totals for the Crosby Challenge. After the three-day challenge, the total in donations was $14,933.00. If you add in the $5,000 matching funds, the grand total comes to 19,933.00! Just shy of $20,000!

Merit wants everyone to know how much she appreciates the longtime donors who put forward the challenge, and all of the people who stepped up to help out, whether that be bringing in cat litter and food, adopting, or donating. Everyone is so much appreciated.

UPDATES ON THE CROSBY CATS

Merit told me that as of today, Wednesday, April 24th, 2024, 19 Crosby cats have been adopted already. There are many kittens with their moms in foster care at the moment, and also some kitties that need some extra love and attention while they get what they need, and once they are on the mend, will be put up for adoption as well.

If you are looking for a Crosby cat specifically, the way you can tell it's a Crosby cat is that each cat was given a number as it was taken in; which is still featured on the website. You'll see the name of the cat and the number it was given on the website.

CONTINUED SUPPORT

In the meantime, they could still use your support. Cat litter, cat food, or monetary donations are always welcome as the cats need to be cared for while they are in the facility, and of course; if you can find room in your home and heart to adopt one of these beautiful cats in need, the sooner TCHS can open that kennel to others in need.

TCHS spays and neuters all of the cats, dogs, and other critters like rabbits, before their adoptions are completed. If you are in need of pet supplies, TCHS operates a thrift store called 'For Pets Sake', which is open from 2 pm to 6 pm on Thursdays and Fridays, and 2 pm to 5 pm on Saturdays.
