For those of you who have made a permanent record in your brain of the Wonder Twins, let me enlighten you on some interesting facts about the twins that you might not remember, or possibly, may have never known.  Zan and Jayna first appeared in "The All New Super Friends Hour" in in the 1977 episode entitiled, Joyride.

They are throwbacks to an ancient race of Exorian Shapeshifters. Their parents died when they were just babies, during a plague, so no one wanted to take care of them...so an old scientist took them in, Professor Carter Nichols.

When the Wonder Twins Activate, they have to touch hands. Zan can transform into any form of water, and Jayna can transform into any animal, whether it is real or mythological. She sometimes doesn't know the proper name of the animal she wants to turn into, and messes up.

Zan and Jayna are siblings from the planet Exxor, and were being 'informally trained' by the Super heroes. How did I know that? Super Heroes in training! Informally. They also had a monkey named Gleek. Clever. Sort of like Geek, but different. The twins characters were based heavily on Donny and Marie Osmond, who had a show at the time on ABC.

Much like the Wonder Twins, Punky Brewster was also without parents. Punky Brewster debuted in September of 1984 and run until 1988. Punky was taken in by a  rather unhappy Chicago photographer named Henry.  Punky and her dog Brandon lighten Henry's life, and teach us all valuable life lessons of giving from the heart.
