Zebra Mussel Found in Wright County Lake
ANNANDALE -- An invasive aquatic species has been discovered in another central Minnesota lake.
The Minnesota DNR says a single zebra mussel was discovered in Cedar Lake near Annandale. The adult zebra mussel was found attached to a stick in three feet of water at the Schroeder County Park public access.
The zebra mussel was discovered by the Cedar Lake Conservation Club which was conducting a proactive search for starry stonewart. No starry stonewart was found.
A broader survey is now being conducted to determine how widespread the zebra mussel infestation is.
This is the first new confirmation of zebra mussels in a Minnesota lake this year.
