Fergus Falls, Minnesota is home to the states largest otter. In fact, they've deemed it the largest in the world.

His name is Otto and he's a 40 foot long otter statute that stands 15 feet tall. They're not kidding when they say he's big. Yes, he's not a real otter, but he's real in our hearts.

You can find Otto living in Grotto Park in Otter Tail County. He's really hard to miss. Visitors be warned, Otto doesn't like being climbed on, which is why you'll find signs posted around the park asking you to keep off.

According to the Otter Tail County Historical Society via the Fergus Falls Department of Commerce website, Otto was created by their local high school in 1972. The students welded, plastered, cemented and painted the statue which was created to mark the town's centennial.

Minnesotans are practicing social distancing amid COVID-19. If you're just itching to enjoy the outdoors and experience something new and exciting, pack up the kids and visit Otto in Otter Tail County.
