UPDATE: Winter Storm Warning Expanded for Heavy Snow

The National Weather Service has expanded a Winter Storm Warning to include Benton, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Sherburne, and Stearns Counties in effect from 9 PM tonight through Noon Wednesday.

Heavy snow is expected, with total snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches, with locally higher amounts. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

Travel could be very difficult. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning commute.
