POKEWORKS

Have you ever heard of Pokeworks? Pokeworks is a Hawaiian chain of restaurants that will be coming to Minnesota and operated by Minnesota-based owners.

What does Pokework offer to its customers? Poke, of course! What the heck is Poke, you say? I don't know, so let's find out together.

HAWAIIAN DELICIOUSNESS

Poke is a Hawaiian dish that includes raw fish cubes tossed in various sauces and served over rice.

The raw fish is traditionally made with ahi tuna or octopus. Still, other proteins like chicken, tofu, shrimp, and salmon can also be used, and are included on the Pokeworks Menu.

The sauces are typically savory flavors and can include a variety of toppings like cucumbers, edamame beans, pickled cabbage, cream cheese, sesame seeds avocado and more.

HOW IS POKE SERVED?

Poke is served as an appetizer or a main course meal, and is a delicious healthy option that some say provides a great source of omega-3 fatty acids.

I believe Poke originally came from the Polynesian Islands and then became popular in Hawaiian culture after Japanese ingredients like soy sauce came along.

Pokeworks offers their Signature Works bowls, Poke Your Way, where you choose your proteins and base, as well as mix-ins, toppings, and flavors.

The sides look incredibly appetizing as well. Hot Miso Soup, Chicken Miso Ramen Soup, Spicy Edamame, Seaweed Salad, Side of brown or white rice.

Wondering about desserts? Yep. They have them too. Chocolate Chunk Cookies and Peruvian Chocolate Brownies.

What about your kids? They do have a Kids Bowl, which includes chicken or tofu with white rice, sweet corn, mandarin orange, edamame, surimi salad, wonton crisps and Pokeworks Classic sauce.

WILL POKEWORKS BE COMING TO ST. CLOUD?

The truth is, that there will be three Minnesota-run restaurants, but where they will be located has not been made public at this time. I'm hoping that St. Cloud is on their radar!

POKE ONE IS IN MONTICELLO

There is a great place for you to try Poke right now! I just learned that there is a restaurant called  Poke One and is located in Monticello at 525 MN-25, Monticello MN 55362.
