It could have been worse!

During Tuesday night's away game against the Toronto Bluejays, Twins catcher Mitch Garver was lucky to walk away with mere scratches after taking a broken bat to the neck.

In the first inning, Toronto's Randal Grichuk connected with the ball, sending it out into left field. However, the blow also snapped his bat just above the handle, sending it flying backwards into the Twins catcher's face.

The jagged end caught Garver in the neck. Fortunately, he walked away with just scratches and was able to continue playing. Good thing, too -- later in the 6th inning he hit a two-run homerun leading to a 3-0 Twins win.
