One of my favorite things about the holiday season is no doubt the beautiful light displays throughout the community. It's been a long standing holiday tradition in my family to pack into our car with sweet Christmas treats and hot cocoa while we go on a tour of lights.

One light display you can't miss because it's massive (33 acres massive) is the Country Lights Festival in Sartell. It's a huge walking display around Lake Francis behind the Sartell Community Center.

The light display is breath taking, and it's free. It's been announced that it'll open for the season this year on December 1st. Lights will be on every night from dusk until dawn, according to the official event website. Throughout the holiday season there will be different themed nights. They haven't announced the themes or dates yet. Last year they had a Santa night among others.

The light display is so large that it takes a big group of volunteers to put it together every year. Volunteers are needed starting on November 12. If you're interested in helping out you can sign up for a time slot. Event setup goes from Nov. 12 through Nov. 15. All volunteering will be done outside behind the Sartell Community Center, so there's plenty of room to social distance.

Are you looking for something to do with your friends or family that is OUTSIDE?!?! We will be putting the lights up in...

Once the light display is open for the season, they'll remain on through December 31.
