Volunteer Spotlight: Mix 94.9 Crew At The St. Cloud Salvation Army
The Mix 94.9 crew had the opportunity to spend some time volunteering at the St. Cloud Salvation Army this week. Our team wasn't sure what to expect.
Ashli, Dave-O, Abbey and Adam served up lunch in the kitchen to dozens of community members and then headed over to the food shelf to help stock shelves and guide people through the aisles.
Our team was amazed at the great work the Salvation Army does on a daily basis to make sure the basic needs are met for those falling on hard times in our community.
It's a massive undertaking. The nonprofit runs a weekday lunch program, a food shelf and free bread program. They provide utility assistance and an emergency shelter. They make sure those in need have something warm to wear with their warm coat program. The Salvation Army runs a homeless veterans program. And, during the school year they also run a backpacks and school supplies program...and more. The list of services they do for those who really need it in St. Cloud is a long one.

That's why volunteers and donations are so important. You don't have to spend all day there either. Just one hour of your time can really help their organization. If you're interested in volunteering, call Laura like we did at 320-257-7437. A big thanks to the Salvation Army for hosting us!
