Last Saturday, skate company Volcom brought their 'Wild In The Parks' national tour to the new St. Cloud Skate Plaza. The tour is designed to give hometown and small city skaters an opportunity to show their skills off to bona-fide pro skaters and team managers.

The free event offered up a cash prize and lots of product to competitors, along with the opportunity for the challengers to advance to a national contest.

This was the first national contest to arrive at the Heritage Skate Plaza since it's opening last November.

Coon Rapids resident Alex Trivis told St. Cloud State University's 'Chronicle' reporter Zak Killerman;

“I’m actually thinking about coming to SCSU for school. Ever since the plaza got built, the skate scene is coming up pretty big here and I think it’s something I want to be a part of,”

We sent our web producer Abby Faulkner out to capture the action-

The next stop for the Wild In The Parks tour is the Railslide Park in Vancouver, CA.

We also want to share a couple of fantastic video shot the day before the comp  and footage from the actual competition from Bald-E-Gal Productions, a local skate video company with affiliations to The Youth Shelter Supply in St. Cloud-
