The Minnesota Vikings are on a mission, that mission is to win out and become the number 1 seed in the NFC Playoffs. With just two games left, the Vikings and their fans are seeing a change coming to their next game at US Bank Stadium. The upcoming border battle is being shifted to a later time. The NFL made the announcement yesterday, officially.

The Vikings-Packers game just got a little bit bigger in the eyes of the NFL. The border battle this weekend at US Bank Stadium will start now after 3 pm, as the original game was scheduled for a noon kick-off. The NFL flexed the Vikings to a later time slot as the game has big playoff implications for not only the two teams playing but other teams in the league.

What time is the Vikings-Packers game this weekend?

The game time was moved from a noon kickoff to a 3:25pm start time, so if you were planning on going to the game that might mean you adjust the time you leave for the game.

From the Minnesota Vikings website:

"The action from U.S. Bank Stadium will be featured as FOX's "America's Game of the Week" and broadcast nationally. Another major rivalry game between Dallas (7-8) and Philadelphia (12-3) was initially scheduled for that time slot but has been moved to noon (CT)."

Why is this game so important to both the Vikings and Packers?

This game is big for not only both teams but some other teams as well, but for now let's stick to what this game means for both the Vikings and the Packers.

The Packers need to win this game because they can no longer win the NFC North, but they can improve their playoff positioning if they knock off the Vikings at home, returning the favor from the Vikings earlier this year when the two teams faced off.

The Vikings need to win this game to push for the number 1 overall seed in the NFC, which means home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

What happens after the border battle?

Things don't get easy for the Vikings after the Packers this weekend, as they are scheduled to wrap up the season against the defending NFC North Champion Detroit Lions in Detroit on January 5th.
